choosing a mala
If this is your first time choosing a mala for yourself (or for someone else), you might be feeling like you don't know where to start. While there is no right or wrong way to choose your mala, we have some tips that can help make the process a little easier. It's a beautiful process, so be patient with yourself and enjoy the journey.
Often, in choosing a mala, the one you are drawn to first is the one you are meant to have. It can be that simple. Trust your intuition. Allow yourself to be open to the ease of it. As Rumi says, "Your heart knows the way. Run in that direction."
When looking at the various malas available on our site, ask yourself what purpose your mala will serve. Will you use it to support your meditation practice? to help heal in some way? to manifest a specific dream or intention? Our malas are made with natural crystal beads that carry their own healing and spiritual properties. When activated, crystals work with you to focus and manifest your intentions. Read about the metaphysical properties for each mala as you peruse, and see what resonates with you. All of our crystal descriptions come from trusted sources: The Crystal Bible by Judy Hall, Love Is In The Earth by Melody and The Book of Stones by Robert Simmons & Naisha Ahsian
If you do not find the perfect mala in our current inventory, you may place an order for a personalized mala. (Please note, due to COVID, these orders can take up to 3 weeks to complete, and not all gemstones are available at this time.) We will select the thread, guru bead and tassel color to curate a beautiful mala just for you. There is a section for notes where you can add personal information that might be helpful to us when designing your mala. (i.e. Are you drawn to more neutral tones? Do you have a favorite color?, etc.)
Kate and Kim are available for a free consult if you'd like guidance in choosing a mala for yourself or as a gift. Please fill out the message form on our "ABOUT US" page to start the conversation.
